Stanley Gregory Domitrovich, 89 of Ontonagon, Michigan, passed away peacefully the morning of January 28, 2024, at Aspirus Eagle River Hospital in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
Stanley was born in Ontonagon, Michigan on May 8, 1934, to Frank Sr. & Mary (Strebenak) Domitrovich. He married Nancy (Rogers) on August 30, 1958, and had four children together. They were married for 65 years.
Stan was a devote Catholic, a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a supervisor at the Ontonagon Paper Mill for 40 years before retiring.
He was a man of many talents working with his hands to build 4 exquisite homes, 3 cabins and one of a kind beautiful furniture pieces. He was a very creative person constantly drawing and sketching his ideas to paper.
Stan is survived by his wife Nancy; Children; Sally (John) Zawlocki, Steve (Kim) Domitrovich, Cheryl (Jon) Labyak and Jenny (Tim) Tobias. Grandchildren; Maria, Luke, Wesley, Stanley, Caroline, Michael, Mariya, Jenny, Isaac, Georgia and Garrett. Great Grandchildren; Ruby, Sierra, Sofia, Archer, Harper, Wyatt and Monroe. Sister Dorothy Condon and brother George Domitrovich.
He is preceded in death by his father Frank Sr., and mother Mary, sisters Helen Hoefferle and Mary Lou, brothers Frank, Carl, Tony, and Martin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with Rosary Service at Cane Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am and service starting at 11:00am led by Father Michael Jacobus. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Lucas Domitrovich, Isaac Domitrovich, Garrett Tobias, Stanley Lewis, Wesley Lewis and Michale Zawlocki.
Burial will take place at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aspirus Eagle River Hospital nursing staff, especially Brenda, for taking care of our Dad with such attention and kindness. We'd like to also give a warm thank you to Nicole Weiner, who cared for Stan when he was still at his home.
